Hi,
I’m Lynda and firstly thank you for taking the time to read this. That’s me in the photo above with my dogs Gruff (an ever growing 1 Year old Bernese), Megan (a sprightly 13 year old Schnauzer) and Izzy (an energetic 4 year old Springer/Lab cross).
It’s important that you know a little about who you’re doing business with. So I want to give you peace of mind knowing that who’ll be supplying your newsletters and giving you information is someone in the same industry that you can trust.
Please don’t think I’m bragging or being big headed by telling you all this, I’m not. I hate bragging. But by letting you see my background I hope you’ll understand that the things I say and the advice I give come from my real business experience; straight from the coalface!
Here’s a quick run down of my stats just to let you see where I’m at:
-
I got trained and opened my grooming business (Canine Care) in 1993.
-
I’m married to Malcolm since 2003.
-
I’m the only groomer in my salon.
-
I do an average of 50 dogs per week.
-
I have one full time bather.
-
I have approx 450 clients on my current list.
-
Most of the year I have a six week waiting list, even in January/February.
-
I’m the most expensive groomer in my town.
-
Through my own choice I rarely groom large dogs.
-
There are 8 other grooming businesses within a 15 mile radius of me.
-
The town I operate in is a small-medium sized rural town.
-
In 15 years I’ve only ever advertised (the traditional way) twice.
-
I’m a member of the Pet Care Trust and the British and Irish Dog Groomers

Associations.
I know there will be some who will not find these stats very impressive and that’s ok. I’m happy with where I’m at. More importantly because of what I’ve learned I now know where I’m taking my business in the next few years.
In 2005 I started giving out newsletters to my clients just as a way of communicating to them a little better. The results from them were amazing and I have to say they’ve been a major factor in retaining many of my long term good quality clients. Especially through a time where I saw my competition increase from two other groomers to 8 in my area.
In 2008 my husband Malcolm got more involved in the business and we decided to make the information in the newsletters available to other Dog Groomers.
It’s quickly developed to where you see it today - doing custom newsletters for each Groomer in non-competing areas. Malcolm does all the operations side of the newsletter business so it will be mainly him you’ll be dealing with.
You can be rest assured that Malcolm and I will do all we can to make newsletters work for you. We really want to have a long term business relationship with you and we understand that the more we can help you get what you need then in turn we will get what we need!
It’s so important that you get what you need from us and we’ll do our very very best to make sure it works for you.
